History of the Polish Society for Safety and Reliability (PTBN)
- April 4, 1997, Warsaw University of Technology – meeting of seventeen founding members of PTBN, decision to establish the Society, definition of its objectives, and adoption of the articles of association.
- November 26, 1997, Voivodeship Court in Gdańsk – registration of PTBN (Reg. No. ST 1385) and approval of its statute.
- February 20, 1998, Gdańsk University of Technology – First General Assembly of PTBN and election of the first Board.
- 1999 – PTBN becomes a member of the European Safety and Reliability Association (ESRA).
- November 1999, Zakopane – KONBiN’99 conference, the first meeting combining safety and reliability issues.
- May 2001, Szczyrk – Second KONBiN’01 conference (first with international scope) and the Second General Assembly of PTBN.
- Resolutions granting honorary membership to Prof. Dobiesław Bobrowski and Prof. Jerzy Jaźwiński.
- Start of participation in the European research project SAFERELNET.
- 2003 – registration in the National Court Register (KRS No. 0000085977).
- May 2003, Gdynia – Third international KONBiN’03 conference and workshops on functional safety management.
- June 2003, Gdańsk – establishment of the Functional Safety Committee (Chair: Dr. habil. Eng. Kazimierz Kosmowski).
- June 2004, Gdańsk – Third General Assembly of PTBN: activity report, granting of discharge to the Board, election of a new Board, amendments to the statute, and setting objectives for 2004–2007.
- September 2004, Jurata – conference and workshops on functional safety management.
- since 1998 – active participation of PTBN members in European ESREL conferences (Trondheim 1998, Munich 1999, Edinburgh 2000, Turin 2001, Lyon 2002, Maastricht 2003, Berlin 2004, Tricity (Gdańsk–Gdynia–Sopot) 2005, Estoril 2006, Stavanger 2007, Valencia 2008, Prague 2009, Rhodes 2010, Troyes 2011, Helsinki 2012, Amsterdam 2013, Wrocław 2014, Zurich 2015, Glasgow 2016, Portorož 2017, Trondheim 2018, Hannover 2019, Venice 2020, Angers 2021, Dublin 2022, Southampton 2023, Kraków 2024, Stavanger 2025).
- September 5, 2025, Rumia – General Assembly of PTBN, during which the three-year activity report of the Board was presented, discharge was granted, and a new Board was elected, including a new President – Prof. Jakub Montewka.
